Product overview Announced on February 25, 2025, the Samsung 9100 PRO is a PCIe 5.0 NVMe 2.0 consumer SSD family; this 2TB model (MZ‑VAP2T0B/AM) uses Samsung’s in‑house controller, V‑NAND TLC, and 2GB LPDDR4X DRAM, with rated speeds up to 14,700/13,400 MB/s. It is not discontinued.
As a flagship Gen5 drive, it targets users who can leverage very high sequential and random performance—why it exists is to push PCIe 5.0 bandwidth for demanding desktops and consoles. It works well as a primary boot drive, a 4K/8K video‑editing scratch disk, and a large game library; it also fits PS5 when used with a heatsink. The 1,200 TBW endurance for the 2TB SKU supports heavy daily writes. A factory heatsink variant is available.
