Launched September 30, 2024, the MPG X870E Carbon WiFi is MSI’s high-end AM5 board on AMD’s X870E platform for the Ryzen 9000 generation, with backward support for Ryzen 8000/7000. It remains an active product as of 2026.

Positioned as a high_end ATX option, it exists to pair Ryzen 9000 with modern connectivity without paying flagship pricing. It offers 4 DDR5 slots (up to 256 GB, 8400+ OC), a PCIe 5.0 x16 slot plus additional PCIe, and four M.2 sockets including two PCIe 5.0 NVMe bays. Connectivity is a highlight: Wi‑Fi 7, dual LAN (5GbE + 2.5GbE), two rear USB4/USB 40 Gbps Type‑C ports, plentiful 10 Gbps USB, and front USB‑C 20 Gbps.
