How does the compatibility check actually work, and can I trust it?
Every time you add a part, GixCore lines it up against everything else in the build and checks the things that actually kill a PC build:
- CPU socket and generation against the motherboard.
- Motherboard chipset and memory support.
- RAM type and speed.
- Storage interface and available slots.
- PCIe support and case fit.
- Whether your power supply can really feed the whole system.
The rules are written per category, because what matters for a motherboard is not what matters for a cooler.
The catalog behind those checks comes from real sources, not guesswork: Amazon listings, manufacturer spec pages, Intel ARK and AMD product pages where they exist, vendor documentation, and hand-reviewed corrections when something slips through. It is tuned to catch the expensive, common mistakes, the dead-on-arrival combinations people usually only discover after the box is open.
So treat it as a sharp second pair of eyes, not a manufacturer warranty. For the last few percent, a specific BIOS revision, a millimeter of cooler clearance, an odd board revision, check the part maker's own page before you pay. We would rather tell you that than pretend we know your exact unit.
How are the performance score and value per dollar worked out?
Performance is a relative score inside the GixCore catalog. For each category we take the specs and benchmark-style numbers that genuinely move real-world performance, normalize them, and let the stronger parts rise to the top. It is built to answer "which of these is faster," not to promise an exact frame rate or render time.
Value per dollar puts that performance signal up against the current price. It is the number we lean on most ourselves, because it is how you spot the part that is quietly overpriced and the one punching above its tier. Compare within a category, not across them: a great-value graphics card and a great-value case are not the same kind of great.
Because it is tied to live pricing, the value score breathes with the market. A part that was a steal last week can slide when Amazon's price jumps or stock dries up, so the rankings move with it.
How do I use the builder?
Start with the parts that decide the character of the machine, then let the checklist and the live compatibility snapshot keep everything else honest. You do not need to memorize every spec, that is the builder's job.
- Lock in the processor and graphics card first. They set your performance target and most of your budget.
- Pick a motherboard that truly matches the CPU: right socket, right chipset, right RAM generation, enough storage slots, and a form factor your case will take.
- Fill in RAM, storage, case, and power supply while you watch compatibility, price, and PSU headroom update in real time.
- Open every warning before checkout. Green means it fits, yellow means take a look, red means it will not work as is.
- Save or clone the build when it feels right, then use the per-part Amazon links to order.
Does GixCore sell assembled PCs?
No, and that is on purpose. GixCore is a custom PC builder and planning tool: it helps you draw up a PC parts list, catch compatibility problems, estimate price and power draw, and weigh your options before you spend a cent. The building part stays yours.
The Amazon links point to individual product pages. They do not fill a cart for you, and the parts ship separately unless a seller happens to bundle them. You are buying components, not a prebuilt box.
Where do prices and product links come from?
Most links point to Amazon US product pages, and yes, they are affiliate links, which is part of how the project stays free for you to use. Price and availability refresh whenever GixCore can pull them, but Amazon changes price, stock, shipping, and seller details on its own schedule.
So if a number looks stale or a part shows as unavailable, trust the Amazon page over us. It is always the source of truth at the moment you actually buy.
What should I still check by hand before buying?
The things no catalog can promise for your exact unit: the seller and their return policy, the shipping estimate, the warranty, final case clearance, cooler height, GPU length, the motherboard's BIOS revision, and any manufacturer revision notes. Two minutes here saves a return later.
GixCore is built to kill the planning mistakes early, but the manufacturer product page and the live store listing stay the final word before checkout, every time.
What should I do if a part looks wrong?
Tell us, that is genuinely how this gets better. Send the part link or ASIN, point at the field that looks off, and include the source that proves it. The reports we can act on fastest are backed by a manufacturer page, an official spec sheet, or clear evidence on the Amazon listing itself.
Every good correction feeds three things at once: the compatibility checks, the public parts library, and the recommendations the next builder sees. One catch helps everyone after you.
