Product overview

Released on November 7, 2022, the ADATA LEGEND 960 MAX is the heatsink-equipped member of the LEGEND 960 Gen4 NVMe family. It pairs Silicon Motion’s SM2264 controller with DRAM cache and 3D TLC NAND, and the pre‑installed finned cooler is sized to fit PlayStation 5 drive bays. It’s not discontinued as of 2026.

Positioned as a high_end Gen4 SSD, it exists to deliver near‑peak PCIe 4.0 speeds while keeping thermals in check in tight spaces. The 2TB SKU is well‑suited as a responsive boot drive, large game library, and video‑editing scratch disk, with an endurance rating of 1,560 TBW. Notable: the bundled low‑profile heatsink makes PS5 expansion straightforward without needing an extra cooler.
