Product overview
MSI’s GeForce RTX 4080 Gaming X Trio launched on November 16, 2022 as part of NVIDIA’s Ada Lovelace GeForce RTX 40 family. In the enthusiast tier, it exists to deliver high-end 1440p and credible 4K gaming with DLSS 3 and hardware ray tracing below the premium RTX 4090.
It carries 16GB GDDR6X (256‑bit), a 320W board power, one 16‑pin (12VHPWR) plug, and MSI’s 337×140×67 mm triple‑slot cooler. Outputs are 3× DP 1.4a and 1× HDMI 2.1; MSI recommends an 850W PSU (750W min). Also strong for content creation with AV1 encoding. Superseded by the RTX 4080 SUPER, it was discontinued in January 2024.
