Product overview

MSI’s GeForce RTX 2080 Super Ventus XS OC launched on July 23, 2019 as part of NVIDIA’s Turing‑based RTX 20‑series “SUPER” refresh. It pairs an 1830 MHz boost clock with 8GB of GDDR6 on a 256‑bit bus.

A high_end card of its time, it targeted builders wanting strong 1440p play and ray‑traced effects without stepping up to a 2080 Ti. It’s well‑suited for 1440p gaming, esports/high‑fps at 1080p, and content creation/rendering; DLSS helps sustain performance in ray‑traced titles. Board power is 250 W with 6‑pin + 8‑pin connectors and a 650 W PSU recommendation, the cooler measures 257 × 127 × 51 mm for fit checks, and outputs are 3× DisplayPort 1.4a plus 1× HDMI 2.0b.

Best for
  • 1440p gaming
  • ray tracing
