Product overview
Introduced in early 2023 as part of Inland’s Platinum PCIe 3.0 NVMe line, the Platinum 8TB is an M.2 2280 SSD rated up to 3,300/3,000 MB/s and 1,800 TBW under NVMe 1.3. Micro Center now lists it as no longer carried, indicating it has been discontinued. Positioned as a budget, high-capacity Gen3 option, it exists to maximize storage on mainstream PCIe 3.0 systems without chasing Gen4/Gen5 speeds. Its 8TB capacity and sustained Gen3-class throughput make it well-suited as a huge game library or general mass storage drive, and a reasonable boot drive for older platforms when capacity matters most.
