Product overview

Announced at SIGGRAPH on August 11, 2015, NVIDIA’s Quadro M4000 is a Maxwell‑generation workstation GPU with 8 GB of GDDR5 on a 256‑bit bus (192 GB/s). NVIDIA now lists it among legacy Quadro products, i.e., discontinued.

Tier: workstation. It existed to deliver pro‑app certifications and large‑scene viewport reliability in a compact, single‑slot card. It’s well‑suited to CAD/DCC and multi‑display visualization: 4x DisplayPort 1.2 outputs, 9.5‑inch full‑height single‑slot cooler, and a 120 W board power that draws from one 6‑pin PCIe connector. Being pre‑RTX Maxwell, it lacks hardware ray tracing and DLSS. Notable: the single‑slot design with four full‑size DP ports is unusually space‑efficient for its class.
