Product overview

Released on September 27, 2022, the Ryzen 9 7900X is a 12‑core/24‑thread Zen 4 part in AMD’s Ryzen 7000 family for the AM5 platform, built on TSMC 5 nm. It carries a 4.7 GHz base and up to 5.6 GHz boost, a 170 W default TDP, DDR5 support, and basic Radeon integrated graphics for display and light workloads. Not discontinued.

Positioned in the enthusiast tier, it exists to deliver high clocks and strong multi‑thread throughput without moving up to workstation class. It’s well‑suited to high‑refresh 1440p gaming while streaming, plus accelerated video editing and 3D rendering on AM5 boards (A620/B650/X670 and newer). It’s unlocked for overclocking. Notable: Ryzen 7000 is the first mainstream AMD desktop generation to include an iGPU by default.
