ASRock’s Z790 Taichi Carrara arrived in late 2022 for Intel’s LGA1700/Z790 platform, built for 12th/13th‑Gen Core CPUs. It was announced on September 28, 2022, with retail availability starting November 4, 2022 in Japan.
Positioned as an enthusiast ATX board, it exists to offer a fully loaded feature set on Z790. It’s well suited to overclocking and high‑speed memory (4 DDR5 DIMMs, 7400+ OC), and expansion/multi‑M.2 builds with five NVMe slots (one PCIe 5.0) plus eight SATA. Two PCIe 5.0 x16 slots support high‑end GPUs, and connectivity includes dual USB4/Thunderbolt 4 Type‑C, HDMI, 2.5G LAN and Wi‑Fi 6E. Unique: dual rear USB4 ports are uncommon on Z790 boards. Discontinued May 2024.
