Product overview
Released November 4, 2021, the Core i5-12600K is a 12th‑Gen “Alder Lake” desktop CPU on Intel 7 with a hybrid 6P+4E, 16‑thread design. It targets the LGA1700 platform and is intended for 600‑series motherboards. As a mainstream i5, it’s the sweet‑spot chip that exists to deliver strong gaming and creator performance without i7/i9 pricing. With 3.7 GHz P‑core base and up to 4.9 GHz turbo clocks, UHD Graphics 770 for display/Quick Sync when no GPU is installed, and an unlocked multiplier, it suits builds that value flexibility. Board‑dependent DDR4 or DDR5 support helps it excel at 1080p/1440p gaming, light streaming, and everyday video editing on a modern platform. Intel currently lists its status as Launched (not discontinued).
